Analyses include the node regression of Leibold et al. (2010) , with biogeographic events and restricted null models, the phylogenetic gradient analysis of Peres-Neto et al. (2012) , and the phylogenetic community composition and beta diversity tests of Peres-Neto and Kembel (2015) . Simulations follow the process-based model of Thompson et al. (2020) , with environmental filtering, competition, demographic stochasticity and dispersal in spatially implicit or grid landscapes. Species traits can carry phylogenetic signal or evolve under an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, and competition can be structured by relatedness. Rule-based assembly follows Kraft et al. (2007) . Models were implemented from the published equations. authors: - family-names: Provete given-names: Diogo B. email: dbprovete@gmail.com preferred-citation: type: manual title: 'comdynamite: Linking Traits, Phylogenies and Biogeography in Metacommunities' authors: - family-names: Provete given-names: Diogo B. email: dbprovete@gmail.com year: '2026' notes: R package version 0.6.0.9000 url: https://github.com/diogoprov/comdynamite doi: 10.5281/zenodo.23993533 repository: https://diogoprov.r-universe.dev repository-code: https://github.com/diogoprov/comdynamite commit: 69ab0b1aa6ea54a27037d4b7ef9c8bdb83a09268 url: https://provetelab.org/comdynamite/ date-released: '2026-11-07' contact: - family-names: Provete given-names: Diogo B. email: dbprovete@gmail.com keywords: - metacommunity - community-ecology - simulation - species-sorting - mass-effects - dispersal - competition - phylogenetics - community-phylogenetics - process-based-model
